Website: whittakershomesteadandgreenhouses.weebly.com/# (https://whittakershomesteadandgreenhouses.weebly.com/#/) Covid-19 updates for 2021: We still will be limiting the number of people allowed in the greenhouse at a time just because they are small spaces with all of the benches and plants and want to offer the safest shopping experience possible. We will still offer the availability to book shopping appointments for you to come to the farm, and we also will still be offering the buy online and pickup right at the farm stand contactless or farmers market option. We will have a sanitize station available for you to use. Appointment Booking Link: http://square.site/.../whittaker-s-homestead-alstead-nh Things happening this year at the farm: You will find us at the farmers market in Keene this year on Tuesdays 3-6 and Saturdays 9-1, we can also bring plants for you to pick up at the market. We will have plants for you to purchase this season at Hidden Treasures Flea Market LLC in Swanzey, NH. You also will find us some Sunday's in Gilsum from 1-4 at Restoring Eden for a Farmers Market. We are also working on a really cool business building improvement project that is coming up that we partnered with The Local Crowd Monadnock on. This project will help us achive the goal of purchasing the materials to build the new farm stand that we need. The existing building is 35+ years old, and needs new electrical, insulation, repairs to make it so critters cant eat the walls, it needs a new celling, and roof as it is starting to leak. also we need more storage to properly put away produce packaging supplies, retail supplies that way it is not cluttered to make it easier to pack up items for sale at the farm stand, farmers markets, wholesale customers. We also can solve the problem of having product go to waste because we are without a large working fridge as it stopped working and we could not afford to fix it, that we are running off of mini fridges and a household fridge. By raising the funds to build the new farm stand we can also purchase working fridges, freezers to keep produce at the proper temps to be able to offer a wide variety of products longer. We also will be able to provide produce to customers looking to shop locally for organic produce closer to home by being able to keep more on hand. We also can improve our eco footprint by having a well insulated building, better working appliances. We also can also work toward being opened year round with a well insulated and heated building to feed the area. We are going to make the farm stand so the farm stand has a upstairs for storage and the downstairs will be for shopping, and produce storage and order pickups. The eco part of our building will be thick insulation in the walls, energy efficent windows, doors, air tight envelope, (Energy recovery ventilator). We will have a mold resistant, mildew resistant building that keeps the cold weather elements out and keeps the critters out. Key Items funded:
